What is the purpose:

• To generate excitement at Brown about applied corporate finance and investing
• To bring together students, alumni, and investors
• To expose students to real-world financial analysis

How to enter:

• Suggested teams of 1-3 people
• Publicly-traded companies listed in North America
• Long equity pitches only (no shorts / no derivatives)
• Submissions due by Tuesday, November 5, 2024
• Send submission(s) as PDF by email to pitch@silverbeechlp.com
• Write-up (max 1,000 words), relevant charts as necessary

How it works:

• All pitches submitted in time and according to the above criteria will be reviewed
• In November 2024, the best pitches will present to a panel of judges (including Q&A) 
• Winners and some finalists receive cash prizes, professional mentorship, and recommendations

What is an excellent pitch:

• Valuation Analysis – Clear, quantitative analysis of intrinsic value relative to price
• Quality of Investment Idea – Investability, risk/reward, variant view, business/management quality, articulation of thesis and risks
• Research – Materials used, view on additional diligence 
• Written Material and Deck – Strong support of thesis, adherence to guidelines, clear and concise
• Presentation / Delivery – Articulate and compelling, professional, and structured
• Question and Answer – Accurate responses that make sense, comprehensive knowledge, consistency with thesis, “knowing what you don’t know”
